Olivia of Ulysses

Hi! I am Olivia.

I became a member of the Travelling Bears in July 2001 when this nice colleague of Poul, Jesper, bought me as a gift on Ulysses, the world's largest ferry.

I am the only female bear around here, so it's a bit troublesome sometimes. You know, male bears are a bit ignorant after all. We could do with some more female bears in order to raise the standard. A bit of discipline wouldn't harm, and could you imagine any male bear taking the responsibility? McBear looks shocked if I mention words like cleaning and hard work. And Roger...? He always starts talking about the Dublin Marathon or his books and movies!

Ah, well, he means no harm, he's just a bit bigheaded! And I like McBear because of his work for TA rights.

Name: Olivia of Ulysses

Origin: China - like so many other TA's.

Baptised: No, but Jesper bought me on July 17th 2001 just outside the port of Dublin

Best friend: Oh, I have a lot of friends, no particular best friend

Likes: A nice a cosy evening - and I like travelling!

Dislikes: Bragging bears - oh and mess everywhere

Skills:
Well, I am intelligent, I have a bright head - and I am good at discussions.... just ask Angus and Barnaby

Travelling Experiences:
Before Finglas I crossed the Irish Sea so many times I lost count long ago
In January 2002 I was on Bornholm, the most eastern part of Denmark
I was in the USA from the east coast to the west coast in July and August 2002
In January 2004 I was in Kitzbühel in Austria
In July-August 2004 I was in Tunisia with McBear, Roger, Tom, Barnaby and Irving
And like the other TA's, I have been to so many places in Ireland

Tom and I are enjoying the sun in the garden in Frances's house.
