Copenhagen, December 2005
Just before christmas we went to Copenhagen for an extended weekend to see the lovely christmas
decorations in the streets and to watch Frances ice skating on Kongens Nytorv (King’s New Square).

We also went to Roger’s favorite hotel in Copenhagen, D’Angleterre to enjoy the splendid lounge.
While Roger had a large glass of spring water and Angus, Kevin and the Pinbear brothers used straws to share a
glass of Gløgg (Mulled Wine), McBear enjoyed tea with honey and a bar of chocolate
plus a bag of hazelnuts and a jar of toffees - finishing off with a huge ice cream.
Boy! We had a hard time carrying him out to the taxi....

For Christmas we had a delicious turkey filled with stuffing... no, it wasn't a stuffed turkey as we are
not cannibals eating stuffed animals! All went well ... apart from McBear feeling nausea having enjoyed a jar of cookies plus a Mars
bar and a big bag of toffees - after dinner that is.

Approaching New Year the council had become very concerned. McBear had been lying sick in bed, burping for
two days, and when he was well enough to attend the next council meeting, a long debate ended up with a proposal for a diet.
All votes against 1 were in favour of the proposal, and McBear stood paralysed
as the result was announced! It meant water and fish for two weeks!

The proposal from the council included an important task for Roger: He was asked to set up a diet and exercise
schedule for McBear. Roger took the task very serious as he prepared a daily time table.

The diet included 15 minutes warm up every morning followed by half an hour of running, finishing off
with 20 minutes yoga and meditation. While Roger felt in his right element, poor McBear was moaning and moaning
while doing countless press-ups...

At the end of the diet McBear felt surprisingly well and when he and Roger checked the weighing
scales, McBear had lost almost 6 grams!
-Well done, Roger said in recognition. - Soon you can have salmon again!
- I don't feel like fish at all! McBear replied
